Chrome manages downloads a little bit differently than Internet Explorer does. Since we are now using Chrome for VERSO 4.0 there is a setting we highly recommend you change in order to make Chrome work easier when you download anything. This will come in especially helpful when you’re downloading records from CatExpress or downloading reports from VERSO to make book labels.
SWKLS Staff members have already changed this setting on a few computers when helping libraries download label records or cataloging records.
The directions are below:
1. Open up Chrome.
2. Click on the Setting button in the right hand corner.
3. Click on Settings.
4. Once inside of the Settings menu, click on Show Advanced Settings
5. Scroll down to the Downloads section and check “Ask where to to save each file before downloading“.
6. Close Chrome. Now whenever you download something when using Chrome a prompt will come up asking you where you would like to save your file.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at the SWKLS Office.
